The BOV 3D Secure app is available for download on smart devices, allowing users to make online purchases with Bank of Valletta debit or credit cards.

The app offers a straightforward user experience:

1. Download and install the BOV 3D Secure app on your smart device.
2. Enroll your Bank of Valletta debit or credit card that you intend to use for online purchases. Once you enroll one card, all eligible Bank of Valletta cards for online purchases will be automatically included in the 3D Secure app.
3. During the enrollment process, you will establish an authentication passcode for verifying your online purchases through the app. Optionally, you can set up biometric authentication using fingerprint recognition if supported by your device.

Following the one-time enrollment, you can begin shopping online:

1. When making purchases above a specific amount at select merchants, the payment screen will prompt you to authenticate the transaction.
2. Synchronously, you will receive a push notification on your smart device, directing you to validate the transaction using the BOV 3D Secure app either through the passcode (set during enrollment) or biometric authentication via fingerprint.
3. After successful authentication within the app, you can tap "proceed" on the payment screen to finalize your purchase.
4. In cases of no signal or internet connection on your device, a QR code will be provided on the payment screen. Scanning it will automatically launch the BOV 3D Secure app on your phone. After verification, a 6-digit code will be displayed for entry in the specified field on the payment screen. Subsequently, press "proceed" to complete your transaction.

Bank of Valletta emphasizes that they will not contact users since they are utilizing the app. It's essential to remain vigilant towards any suspicious emails, text messages, or phone calls appearing to originate from Bank of Valletta. Be cautious as criminals may attempt to deceive individuals into disclosing sensitive personal or account information. Report any dubious communications or transactions promptly to Bank of Valletta by calling the number listed on the back of your card to ensure timely corrective measures if necessary.
